Community Guidelines

We created Shizzow as a way to help people connect with each other in the real world. To keep this service awesome, we ask everyone to abide by a few simple guidelines.

Stuff you should do

  • Shout with a message. Let other people know where you are and what you are doing.
  • Tag locations. Add tags and give other Shizzow users more information about a place.
  • Add and update places. Help fill in the data gaps in our databases, which will make search easier, shouting quicker, and everyone's overall experience better.
  • Be safe and be smart. Location can be very personal. We recommend not shouting your location during a romantic dinner unless you really want your 10 closest friends to join you.
  • Have fun! Enjoy yourself and use Shizzow to connect with friends in new places.

Stuff you should not do

  • Don't be creepy. Being creepy or stalking people does not make a good impression, and it is not a good way to meet new people.
  • Don't be disingenuous. Be honest about who you are and the places you edit.
  • Don't be mean. We like nice people better than mean ones.
  • Don't be spammy. Nobody likes spam. We don't want to see your "marketing messages", and we don't want you to wire us money from your Nigerian bank.
  • Don't get us in trouble. Post only content that you own, do not post private or sensitive information, and don't break the law.

We hate having to ban people (it's just extra work on our part). Do the good stuff, avoid the list of no-nos, comply with our terms of services, and all will be right with the world (ok, maybe not the whole world, but at least our little slice of it here on Shizzow).
